CLICK HERE to download free custom wallpapers for your desktop, Twitter, MySpace or Blog.

Here are general instructions on downloading and using custom wallpaper designs.

PC

Click on the appropriate or closest resolution to your monitor. The resolutions are in the titles of the wallpapers. When the image displays, right click with your mouse and choose “Set as wallpaper.”

MAC

Click on the appropriate or closest resolution to your monitor. The resolutions are in the titles of the wallpapers. When the image displays, click on it while pressing the “control” key.

For OS 9: Go to Desktop Pictures and select “Desktop Image.” Navigate to the image file.

For OS X: Hold the ‘Control key’ and click on the image you would like to use, and select “Use Image As Desktop Wallpaper”. Alternatively, you can open your “System Prefs” and go to “Desktop & Screensavers.” Navigate to the image file, under the “Choose Folder” option.

Note to AOL users

If you are browsing through the AOL internal web browser, be aware that AOL compresses web images, and in doing so blurs them. In addition to compressing graphics, AOL shrinks each one to 640 x 480 (due, it says, to limitations in their compression software). Wallpapers are much larger than 640 x 480, so this resizing further degrades image quality.

When the AOL caching system detects that an object is an image, it sends the image through a compression manager on the AOL system network before caching it. Compression makes images smaller for faster retrieval from the cache to members. Members can individually disable AOL graphics compression, but most choose to allow compression because it speeds up web page delivery.

Determining Compressibility:

In order for an image to be compressed, it must have the following characteristics:

The user must have compression turned on.

The object must be in the BMP, GIF, JPEG, or Progressive JPEG format.

The object size must be between 1KB and 8 MB.

If you use AOL’s internal browser, disabling AOL’s image compression will allow you to view all graphics as designed. The internet may run a bit slower, but graphics won’t be compressed by default.

CLICK HERE to read more on this issue from AOL.

Instructions are for AOL 4.0 Win95:

Start AOL and connect as usual. Once connected, click on the button that says “My AOL”, and select “Preferences” from the list provided. You will be presented with a window containing buttons for all of your AOL settings. The one we are interested in is “WWW.”

Click the WWW button. This will bring up another window with little tabs across the top.

Select the tab marked “Web Graphics”, and uncheck the box which reads “Use Compressed Graphics”.

Click the “General” tab and delete all offline content (this clears the compressed graphics from your cache).

Close down AOL. When you reopen it and surf the web, you will see graphics normally.

Refund Policy
The Color Bindery will replace all products for a period of 30 days after purchase, if they are deemed to be defective due to manufacturing defects. We do not give refunds for any projects that have been completed. The Color Bindery makes every effort to match color from photo prints as closely as possible. This service includes only basic photo retouching, and as such, we cannot guarantee color from photographic prints or photos and video submitted in any other format, including digital.

Photos used as backgrounds, may be cropped approximately 3/4” from the border. This is due to the TV safe area, which overlaps all TV images. Please be aware of this when selecting images for background use.

Printable versions of photos are dependent on the quality of photos we are given. Digital photos can be low-resolution to start, and this may reduce the quality of the printable versions. We cannot guarantee the color of printable versions of photos on the DVDs.

DVDs play on most set top and computer DVD players. We can not guarantee that they will play on every DVD player on the market, and as such can not refund for that reason.

Limit of Liability
The Color Bindery takes great care to insure submitted material is handled carefully and returned safely to its clients, in the same condition as it is submitted. We treat all submissions as if they were our own family projects. Submitted materials are returned with final projects. Please insure all submitted materials you send to us. We can not be held liable for material that is lost in transit. When submitting any materials and media to us whether for video transfer or for any other reason, client acknowledges and agrees that The Color Bindery and any subsidiary or vendor used by us shall not be liable for any loss or damage to such materials following receipt and during processing of such materials (even if due to our fault or negligence) and that the client’s sole remedy shall be blank stock of the submitted media. The Color Bindery makes no other warranty and assumes no other risk and shall not be liable for any indirect special, incidental or consequential damages resulting from client’s use of our services. Client warrants that the media submitted to the Video Conversion Experts for processing is not protected by a third party copyright owner or if protected, the client has obtained permission to make copies. Client also agrees to protect and indemnify The Color Bindery (or it’s assignees) from any costs related to copyright infringement. If ordering DVDs, Please make sure your DVD player is DVD-R compliant before sending a order. Satisfaction Guarantee: Request for re-work or refund must be received within 25 days from shipment date. Re-work will be done free of charge one time for mistakes made by the The Color Bindery. Under these fair terms, we’ve never had to give a refund.

Please make sure you have copies of all submitted materials, as we can not be held liable for items lost in transit, or damaged.

Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover customer abuse or accidental damage. Our sole liability is limited to supplying the parts and labor required to restore the product to its normal operating conditions. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, and in no event is The Color Bindery or By Hand Media liable for consequential or incidental damage incurred by the user.

Printable versions of photos are dependant on the quality of the photos supplied at the beginning of a project. Digital photos can be low-resolution to start, and may reduce the quality of the printable versions. Place check the resolution of your photos before submitting them. We do not guarantee the color of printable versions.

DVDs work on most players, but we cannot guarantee they will work on every player on the market.
